Part-Time Instructor, Writing, Spring 2025
The Writing Program, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Spring 2025 semester to teach developmental writing and composition courses. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to:
- Preparing course material
- Creating and posting a course syllabus
- Presenting material during the assigned course times
- Holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students
- Responding to student e-mails
- Conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means in a timely manner
- Submitting final grades
Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
