Associate Producer Booking Coordinator Job at Texas Association of Broadcasters

KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, has the following vacancy: Associate Producer Booking Coordinator

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for news to assist the Producer with writing and editing scripts, building graphics, and ensuring successful execution of live shots. The candidate must have the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, and will perform other duties as assigned.

This position is Full Time

Qualifications & Duties:

• Ability to multitask and work under pressure: This position requires constant written and oral communication about guests who are being invited for interview segments "La Entrevista" during our morning and noon newscasts.
• Leadership skills: The individual must be able to work with little supervision, show self-initiative, and be required to make contact and book guests for newscasts, as well as maintain the guest calendar and notify all team members about guest information.
• Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate well with team members, community leaders, and businesses to contact and find guests for morning and noon newscasts. Most communication is done through phone and email.
• Flexibility: While the hours are primarily during the day, there may be situations when the Booking AP will have to work different hours and occasionally on weekends.

Requirements:

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, or a related field.
• Candidate must be reliable, possess good people skills, and be available to work any shift, including nights, weekends, or overnight.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required, both written and oral. Most guests communicate in English, so fluency in both languages is essential.
• This position will assist the News Producer of the morning news and noon newscast producer.
