Essential Duties
  • Monitors and maintains library equipment in creator studio and makerspace.
  • Assists patrons in using library technology and equipment.
  • Assists patrons with finding appropriate library materials, print and electronic and accessing software on library computers.
  • Staffs the virtual reference service, providing research and technical support online.
  • Operates, troubleshoots, and performs minor repairs to computers and office equipment.
  • Checks library materials and equipment in and out.
  • Assists patrons with Interlibrary loan and holds requests.
  • Participates in supervision and hiring of student workers.
  • Assists in managing study room and equipment reservations.
  • Maintains an orderly appearance of library materials and resources.
  • Reports any problems and maintaining documentation.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; professional knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
  • At least one year of technical support experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine computer hardware issues
Preferred Experience (will be developed on the job):
  • Experience with technologies such as 3D printers, Cricut machines, and audio/video editing equipment and software.
  • Excellent research skills


Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for providing circulation, basic reference, and technical support for MUW, MSMS and the general public at Fant Memorial Library, as well as related circulation duties and student assistant supervision, and building supervision from Sunday - Thursday, 2 pm - 10 pm. This position is also responsible overseeing and maintaining the use of equipment in the makerspace and creator studio. Hours may shift when classes are not in session.
