The Role

Do you have a talent for leading worship and a strong background in Contemporary Christian music? Are you experienced in coordinating and performing music for church services?

We are seeking an experienced Protestant Music Director to lead and inspire the musical aspects of our worship services.

You will oversee the music program for Protestant worship services at Moody Air Force Base Chapel. This includes planning, rehearsing, and performing music that enhances the worship experience.

Hours of Work:

Regular weekly service: 2.5 hours

Holiday/special services: 5 hours

Contract: 5 Years, 2.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead weekly rehearsals and worship services, ensuring smooth performances.
  • Plan and organize music selections, coordinating with the Protestant Chaplains.
  • Provide music for special services such as Easter and Christmas.
  • Maintain and oversee audio/visual equipment setup and operation.
  • Submit and coordinate monthly music schedules with the Worship Service Pastor.
  • Coordinate special performances, including solos, choirs, and guest musicians.
  • Monitor the condition of musical equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper setup of worship areas before and after use.

The Person

We're looking for someone who:
  • Can read music and teach vocal parts and harmonies.
  • Is proficient in leading Contemporary Christian music, including songs from artists featured on CCLI.
  • Has at least two years of experience as a worship leader and can play piano, keyboard, and/or guitar.
  • Demonstrates a lifestyle consistent with the mission of the Chaplain Corps.
  • Can provide professional references and a resume detailing relevant experience.
