Part-time Marketing Specialist (20 hours weekly)

 
  1. MISSION
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to join our team at Hilltop. This part-time role is essential to executing our marketing initiatives and enhancing client engagement through various channels, by managing social media content, email and mail campaigns, event coordination, and website updates. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, good judgment, and an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. They will play a key role in maintaining our brand presence, optimizing outreach strategies, and fostering client relationships.
The ideal candidate should be prepared to work about 20 hours per week – scheduling can be flexible, but work will mostly be during business hours. A hybrid work structure is available. However, attendance at occasional client events during non-business hours is preferred. This role will NOT involve sales or delivery of financial advice.

  1. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Marketing Content
      1. Social media
        1. Edit marketing videos provided by our marketing vendor
        2. Draft additional SM posts to share updates about Hilltop
        3. Use AI to generate and edit content
      2. Email marketing ~2 monthly
        1. Drip list - update mailing/email lists for BGM monthly – to ensure all clients, prospects, and leads are receiving are materials
      3. Mail marketing  1 monthly
        1. Drip list - update mailing/email lists for BGM monthly – to ensure all clients, prospects, and leads are receiving are materials
      4. Goodwill/etiquette letters – review and update our library of letters to send extra touches to our clients
      5. Website –
        1. Make regular updates as guided
        2. Manage SEO
        3. Update pop-ups seasonally to generate new leads
      6. Other content as led by manager
      7. Obtain compliance and manager approval for all materials before publication
    2. Client and Prospect Events
      1. Identify local venues for marketing events
      2. Coordinate with vendors
      3. Be available onsite at client events to manage logistics
      4. Propose alternative event types to enable us to meet new prospects and deepen client relationships
    1. Miscellaneous
      1. Send client gifts as suggested by advisors and other team members
      2. Regularly update content in our in-office digital photo frames
      3. Prospecting/new client stats - track and provide regular reporting
      4. Help build firm relationships with Centers of Influence (other financial professionals), by scheduling lunches and other outreach for our COIs
      5. Other marketing duties as assigned
 
  1. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
    1. Required/preferred education and skills:
      1. Bachelor’s degree required
      2. Comfortable adopting new technology
      3. Preferred experience - copy editing, video editing, and/or graphic design, search engine optimization, social media management
    2. Typical skills and knowledge requirements: 
      1. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, empathy, and listening)
      2. Strong self-leadership skills and effective at collaborating with a team
      3. Personal integrity and honesty, and can protect confidential information
      4. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate potential problem
  1. COMPENSATION
    1. $40-45 per hour paid bi-weekly depending on experience and qualifications
