Media Relations Intern
Role Summary
The Media Relations Intern will work within the Media & Broadcasting department throughout the 2025 Mud Hens season. This role provides students or recent graduates the opportunity to work in a live press box for the Mud Hens. The role's main function is the creation of game notes and stat packs, as well as the coordination of media interviews. Hours for this role vary, but mostly on gamedays, which consists of nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare press area for media.
  • Compile and update game notes prior to each game, home and away.
  • Compile and update stat packs prior to each game, home and away.
  • For home games, deliver game notes and stat packs to broadcasters, gameday staff, coaches, media, etc.
  • For away games, email game notes to opponent and email stat packs/notes to broadcasters.
  • Coordinate postgame media interviews.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Current enrollment or degree in Sports Management, Broadcasting, Communications, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of baseball.
  • Skilled Microsoft Excel.
  • Flexible schedule and availability, especially in April and September.

Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to execute a number of tasks simultaneously and works well under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
