Job Summary
The Covington Technical Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Performance Hall. The Director has a direct and significant impact on the quality of productions in the Hall affected by the functioning of lighting, audio and video recording equipment and other technology, materials, and supply handling, and scheduling. The artistic contributions of the director are highly visible to campus and community audiences and essential to maintaining quality events. The position operates independently but in close collaboration with the Department of Music and all administrative offices involved in the scheduling of university events.

Pro Tools Operator's certification or equivalent experience.
Hiring Range
Pay Band 3 (Minimum: $15.78/hr)

Alternate work schedule
Flexible weekly hours including weekends as determined by event schedules, including set up, rehearsals, performances, maintenance, scheduling, supervision, and regularly scheduled office hours. Some Tuesday and Thursday 11am-12:30pm recitals, afternoon large ensemble rehearsals, and evening concerts as scheduled.

Required Qualifications
- Experience in music, theatre, or performing arts production, recording technology, scheduling multiple events, and supervising staff.
- Knowledge of Audio visual lighting and sound systems including ETC lighting systems, Pro Tools HD Digital audio workstation, Final Cut Pro, and Yamaha Digital mixing boards (DM1000 and 02R).
- Excellent skills in organization, time management, supervisory roles, adaptability, and computer skills on Apple platforms using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in written and oral communications, problem solving, and excellence in interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to prioritize projects and multitask, act professionally in stressful situations, train, delegate responsibilities and evaluate student workers.
