The Chicago Union is seeking a creative and motivated Sports Video Editing Intern to join our team for the upcoming season. This role is ideal for someone passionate about video production, social media trends, and sports storytelling. You'll play a key part in showcasing the Chicago Union's brand through dynamic video content, leveraging existing game and practice footage to create engaging, cutting-edge content for social media platforms. In addition to editing, the role includes hands-on gameday production duties, making it a perfect opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced, professional sports environment.

Job Questions:
Responsibilities
- Edit game and practice footage into short, engaging videos tailored for social media, focusing on trending formats and storytelling.
- Create highlight reels, action montages, and promotional videos to enhance the Union's digital presence.
- Sit in the broadcast trailer on gamedays (must be available for all home games) to assist the production team with tasks such as replays, score graphics, and other broadcast elements.
- Actively participate in brainstorming and creative development sessions to conceptualize fresh ideas for video content.
- Organize and manage video footage to ensure easy access for future projects.
- Assist with day-to-day production operations and administrative duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere (advanced editing skills required).
- Familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite tools (e.g., After Effects, Photoshop) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Twitter) and current video trends.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, especially on gamedays.
- Familiarity with Mac OS.
- Commitment from January through August (pre-season to the end of the season).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or formal training in Video Production, Film, Journalism, or a related field.
- A portfolio or reel demonstrating creative video editing, dynamic storytelling, and professional polish.
- At least 2 years of editing experience in Adobe Premiere.
- Experience with sports video production is preferred.
Location
- Remote: Most tasks can be completed remotely.
- In-Person: Must attend home games at Martin Stadium (Northwestern University) as part of the broadcast production team.
