Position Profile:
- Direct UK teaching experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years AL/IGCSE/AP teaching experience in the relevant area
- Ability to teach high achieving students
- Degree in area of expertise for teaching
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, MEd or equivalent)
Specific Responsibilities of Teaching Position:
- To plan and deliver lessons according to Scheme of Work using a variety of learning activities
- To create and conduct assessments according to departmental schemes of assessment and produce reports which meet the required standards in a timely fashion
- To regularly assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and design appropriate evaluations to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement
- To collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, sharing best practices and resources
- Possibilities for teaching AP Music as our AP program expands
- Opportunities for teaching EPQ (projects) & GNT (Gifted and talented)
Brief Description of SCIE:
UK curriculum high school (Cambridge International AS/AL & IGCSE) teaching through the medium of English to mainly Chinese students preparing for overseas universities.
We are expanding our provision with the introduction of an AP stream, hence there are opportunities for teachers interested in some AP teaching in various AP subjects.

Subject Department Introduction:
At our new campus, Music expands from its popular beginning into our new facilities with dedicated practice rooms, composing lab, recording studios and a theatre. Teachers will have a variety of classes from IGCSE Music in UK Years 10 and 11 and AS/AL Music in UK Years 12 and 13, depending on skills and experience. The subject is highly successful with two thirds of students achieving A/A* at IGCSE and A Level with the top students regularly achieving the Top of China or Top of Asia. We are looking for a strong music teacher with experience of IGCSE and A Level to join the team in this exciting period of development and expansion.
The Music Department also organizes a variety of events throughout the academic year, including music concerts, arts festival performances, the Christmas concert, the Enrichment Showcase, the Chinese New Year concert, and a series of other music performances. Our teachers are highly committed to supporting students through after-school rehearsals and concert preparations. Beyond the GCSE and A-Level curricula, the Music Department also offers an optional AP Music Theory course for students who wish to deepen their understanding of music.
