GSD&M is seeking a Senior UX Design Researcher to take the lead on usability testing, user research, and A/B testing initiatives that will shape the future of our client's digital presence, primarily focused on our work supporting the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. You'll work closely with internal and partner agency developers, web designers, data analysts, and strategists to generate insights that inform strategic decisions and improve our user experiences. About You: You are an expert in usability testing and user research methodologies, with a passion for understanding user behavior and translating that knowledge into actionable insights. You have deep experience with A/B testing, usability testing, user interviews, and distilling complex data into clear, concise recommendations. You're comfortable working with cross-functional teams to ensure research findings drive impactful design decisions. You have a proactive mindset, independently identifying new testing and development opportunities to explore with users. Your consultative approach builds strong relationships, and your adaptability ensures success in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Key Responsibilities: Lead usability testing efforts, including planning, moderation, and analysis, to inform product and service design improvements. Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative user research using methods such as user interviews, A/B testing, surveys, and heuristic evaluations to gather actionable insights. Drive A/B testing strategies to assess the effectiveness of design changes and provide data-driven recommendations. Synthesize research findings into easy-to-understand reports, journey maps, personas, and user flows that guide design decisions. Collaborate with and coach designers and developers to ensure research insights are translated into practical, user-focused design solutions and prototypes Facilitate workshops and design sprints to align stakeholders and teams on user insights and research-driven improvements. Build scalable research frameworks and processes to enhance usability testing and research practices across projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or five or more years of work experience 5 years of professional experience in user research, usability testing, and A/B testing. Proficiency in leading A/B tests, usability studies, and user research methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability evaluations. Experience collaborating with product teams to drive design decisions informed by data and research insights. Ability to distill research findings into clear, actionable formats for cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Proven experience with usability testing platforms like Maze, UserTesting or equivalent technologies. Experience with analytics and A/B testing platforms like Google and/or Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, VWO, or similar tools
