Starting in August 2025, AIS’s Upper School will span two campuses: the Buckhead Campus for Grades 3K-12 day students and the Sandy Springs Campus for Grades 9-12 day and boarding students.

Job Purpose
AIS teachers inspire students from diverse backgrounds to become courageous leaders in a culturally responsive and restorative learning environment. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of the founding team building our new Sandy Springs campus.

This is a full-time position as Innovation & Learning Center Librarian at the Sandy Springs Campus. Note that candidates must be eligible to work in the US and do not need a visa.

Responsibilities
As an Innovation and Learning Center Librarian in Grades 6-12, you will be expected to contribute to a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Participate in the Development and Maintenance of the Innovation and Learning Center Spaces
    1. Co-Design and curate flexible, inclusive, and engaging learning environments tailored to diverse student needs.
    2. Ensure spaces are equipped with up-to-date resources including books, digital tools, and experiential learning materials.
    3. Foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere that promotes creativity and collaboration.
  2. Promote Reading and Literacy
    1. Develop programs and initiatives to cultivate a love of reading among students.
    2. Provide tailored library services and resources to support boarding students' academic and personal needs.
  3. Support Information Literacy
    1. Teach students to access, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically.
    2. Guide students in navigating and interpreting digital and traditional media.
  4. Facilitate EdTech Integration
    1. Provide professional development and ongoing support to teachers in using educational technology.
    2. Act as a resource for troubleshooting and implementing digital tools in the classroom.
  5. Champion Inclusion and Diversity
    1. Advocate for equitable access to resources and opportunities for all students.
    2. Support students and staff in creating a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.

Job Requirements
Educational Background & Professional Experience:

  • Master of Library Science (MLS)
  • 3 plus years of relevant experience in a school library environment
  • IB experience is preferred, but good applicants with other curriculum experience are also welcome to apply.
