General Information:

The Breeze is hiring its Breeze TV News Director. The student selected for this position will oversee a weekly broadcast news show that airs live. The Breeze TV News Director is the senior leader for Breeze TV.

Position begins April 1 with training during March. Must be able to be back to campus two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the staff in creating a 30-minute news show each week
  2. Guide reporters in producing stories for weekly show and online news site
  3. Oversee production and editorial staffs
  4. Make editorial and coverage decisions
  5. Lead the staff in upholding journalistic ethics and standards

Qualifications:

  1. Ideal candidate will have served on Breeze TV for at least one semester
  2. Ability to lead a team toward a common goal
  3. Writing, editing, broadcast and management skills
  4. Ability to meet deadlines
  5. Excellent communication skills

Conditions of Employment:

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).

Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
