JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Content Strategist plays a dual role as part of the team overseeing the Discover Universal Podcast (the official podcasts of Universal Destinations & Experiences [UDX] North American brands). They are responsible for assisting the team lead with both digital marketing strategy and execution, as well as podcast pre-production, production, post-production, and promotional support. From creating show outlines to booking talent to prepping hosts to formulating content distribution plans and managing content calendars, the Associate Content Strategist acts as an integral part of the team in helping to tell our brand story and engage our guests and fans worldwide.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for episode research, assisting with production planning and logistics, project management and documentation tasks, collecting insights and input from business partners, writing show outlines, researching guests and prepping interview questions, scheduling upcoming guests, and assisting Manager, Discover Universal Podcast with all necessary preparations for production.

  • Participates in production of podcast episodes by producing thorough timestamped editor’s notes, tracking what is being recorded against the show outline to ensure nothing is missed and our goals are met, assisting with social media and other promotional content capture (e.g., photos and micro video, etc.), and assisting Manager, Discover Universal Podcast with avoiding Legal and Intellectual Property compliance issues.

  • Listens/watches and podcast episodes and makes detailed strategic and creative feedback notes, creates transcripts, show notes, blog posts, and other channel assets, uploads episodes to publishing platforms, and aligns with channel partners on launch.

  • Maintains and curates a long lead calendar for the Discover Universal podcast; participates in brainstorms and other meetings, research industry trends and contributes innovative ideas for growing the program.

  • Assists Discover Universal team (Video and Blog) with teamwide projects and responsibilities when necessary.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Broadcast, Advertising, Media Production, Digital Media, Public Relations, or Social Media is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

1+ year experience in communications, marketing, social media, digital media, podcasting, broadcast journalism, radio, production, content marketing, or digital communications.
