Job Description:
We are seeking an Assistant Technical Designer with a strong background in fashion design and a keen eye for detail. This role is integral to ensuring that our bridal collections meet the highest standards of quality, fit, and design. The ideal candidate will have experience in bridal, eveningwear, dresses, or lingerie and a strong understanding of garment construction and technical design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of technical packages (tech packs), including detailed sketches, specifications, and construction notes for new designs.

  • Collaborate with the design team to create prototypes, ensuring the execution of designs meets creative vision and technical standards.

  • Review and evaluate patterns, samples, and fit corrections to ensure precision in construction and fit.

  • Conduct fittings with live models, taking detailed notes and communicating adjustments to patternmakers and production teams.

  • Maintain organized records of all fit samples, approvals, and updates throughout the design process.

  • Partner with manufacturers to troubleshoot construction issues and uphold quality standards.

  • Research and source materials, trims, and construction techniques suitable for high-end bridal fashion.

  • Assist with fabric testing, color approvals, and other quality control tasks to ensure product integrity.

  • Stay current on industry trends and innovations to bring fresh insights to the design process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in technical design, preferably in bridal, eveningwear, dresses, or lingerie.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator) and knowledge of garment construction and pattern-making.

  • Strong understanding of textiles, including luxury fabrics and embellishments used in bridal and couture gowns.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with fittings and garment adjustments, with a strong focus on achieving exceptional fit and finish.

  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in fashion is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
