Our client is seeking a full-time commercial Interior Designer for our Dayton, Ohio location.

Since 1927, the organization has provided clients with responsive customer service and architectural, interior design and planning services of the highest quality and now seeks a highly motivated interior designer familiar with the local area capable of working on multiple projects. Typical projects include K-12 schools, healthcare facilities, public spaces, office renovations, as well as other facility types.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will be responsible for projects of various sizes during all phases from inception to completion; ensuring all processes and procedures are followed and that all work is completed as planned, budgeted and scheduled

  • Create, read, and understand drawings/blueprints

  • Work with contractors, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives

  • Assist with installation coordination and project management as needed

  • Interface with clients to develop and maintain a positive working relationship. Clients includes architects, designers, end-users, construction managers, etc.

  • Contribute to the ongoing business development, marketing efforts and maintain client relationships.

  • Explore and identify new opportunities to add or enhance professional services with existing clients

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years' relevant experience leading and designing a variety of commercial projects

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or related field required

  • Strong skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Power Point Presentations; excellent freehand drawing skills a plus

  • Must possess demonstrated experience in space planning, construction documentation, interior detailing, selection of color palates/materials, FFE specifications, and coordination with consultants

  • Understanding of architectural construction documents; including floor plans, sections, elevations, and details is required

  • Ability to calculate figures, square footage, proportions, percentages, area, discounts and read blueprints

  • Must possess high interpersonal, written and graphic communications skills, expressing concepts effectively to clients, and project team

  • Strong & uncompromising ability to drive work to ensure deadlines are met is required;

  • Ability to be minimally supervised & proactive is required

  • Must lead effective problem-solving, brand development and sustainable design, while resolving complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions

  • NCDIQ certification is required
