Exodus Cry is a leading global anti-tracking nonprofit organization focused on ending widespread sex tracking and commercial sexual exploitation, assisting, and empowering its victims, and educating the public about these horrific crimes. Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Head Writer who can write compelling content and copy in a range of styles, including for: blogs, op-eds, eblasts, social media scripts and captions, press releases, reports, decks, print collateral, web copy, and more. The ideal candidate will be more than just a proficient writer; they will possess the ability to create and adapt a bold and engaging “voice” that resonates with a wide range of followers, supporters, as well as the broader public. This candidate should also carry a deep, heartfelt desire to see sex tracking and commercial sexual exploitation uprooted from our world.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in writing, or a related field. (not required if candidate has high levels of experience)


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Write and Edit Content/Copy

  • Write and edit content/copy for a wide range of uses, including: blogs, op-eds, eblasts, social media scripts and captions, press releases, reports, decks, print collateral, web copy, and more.
  • Proofread and edit content/copy, ensuring grammar, punctuation, and other essential details are of optimal quality.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, development, film and events teams to align writing efforts with overall organization goals.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Have a creative mindset with the ability to adapt writing tone and messaging across various platforms and audiences.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Be able to finish projects quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess the ability to pivot quickly and adjust to change as the immediate needs of the organization shift.
  • Be in tune with current communication trends and meaningful ways to incorporate those into writing projects, when relevant.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for the majority of each work day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to drive and be willing to travel.
  • Must be able to work in Exodus Cry’s office in South Orange County, Monday-Thursday, and may work remotely on Friday.
