Lancaster Technical Resources, Inc. is hiring: Technical Writer in Reno

This is a Contract position (One year with two one year options)

Creates and maintains technical documentation, policies, procedures, white papers and manuals. Translates technical information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences. Compiles, organizes, and summarizes data from multiple sources; monitors/tracks processes to ensure their execution within defined parameters.  Ensures activities are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides technical writing and content management support for engineering related policies, procedures, manuals, white papers, presentations and other documentation as required. (40%)
• Provides editing, layout and publishing support to ensure high quality of material produced.
• Coordinates and performs database maintenance on the stock material catalog, compatible units, and the manufacturer data catalog. (20%)
• Create spreadsheets that compile large sets of data for evaluation and presentation (20%)
• Participates in meetings or interviews with subject matter experts to obtain technical understanding and clarification of documentation requirements. (5%)
• Coordinates requests for documentation and evidence. (5%)
• Acts as a subject matter resource to all levels of the organization. (5%)
• Recommend alternative processes and practices. (5%)
• Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.  

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Technical Communications, Engineering Technologies, or related field from an accredited school plus 3 years of related work experience in technical writing and editing.
