Overview:

The Marketing Content Creator/Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the creation, curation, and execution of marketing campaigns in support of Housing Works Cannabis Co businesses, within brand guidelines. This individual must be fluent in creating content for all major social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok) and email marketing campaigns including basic photo and video editing. They must be a strong copywriter and knowledgeable and/or passionate about cannabis, social justice, and marketing/social media. This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with strong communication skills, copywriting skills, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns at once. Being creative, adaptable, and attuned to customer/donor preferences and media trends are crucial to this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive customer engagement to maximize sales by developing, planning and executing owned media (social media, email, blog) campaigns related to our cannabis businesses.
  • Work independently and with the team in identifying retail priorities and building rich storylines/content for compelling campaigns targeted to increase brand awareness, community engagement, and revenue.
  • Manage the content and calendar for email and social media for the business which includes content related to new products, special events, sales, membership, and other promotions.
  • Photograph/film shops and promotional events for social media posts and stories (across multiple platforms).
  • Ensure compliance with all legal documents as applicable. Content creation to include emails, writing articles, blog posts, social media updates, producing short videos, podcasts, and coordination of photo shoots.
  • Must have experience with Alpine IQ and/or other CRM platforms.
  • Report out campaign performance to include recommendations on success/failure and interpretation.
  • Develop and manage Housing Works’ influencer program to drive sales.
  • Be knowledgeable about social media trends and position Housing Works Cannabis Co to actively participate in current events, memes, hashtags, etc.
  • Respond to customer complaints/reviews on various websites, including Yelp, Google, etc.
  • Adhere to Housing Works brand guidelines with regard to content.
  • Participate in weekly marketing meetings and special event brainstorming meetings as applicable.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines as dictated by the promotional calendar and as assigned by management.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative needs including invoicing and office supplies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Liberal Arts, or other related field.
  • Fluency in social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with photo and video editing apps for social media.
  • Knowledge of and interest in HIV/AIDS and related social justice issues.
  • Knowledge of and interest in cannabis.
  • The ability to manage one’s own projects along with managing the team’s workflow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible, nimble, resourceful, and dynamic in practice.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with external partners and be resourceful.
  • Ability to work creatively within the established budget and time constraints.

Compensation Range: $62,500 - $67,500 yearly commensurate with experience.
