The
Product Designer
will be responsible for complete ownership of product design activities related to select new product development initiatives from developing initial design concepts through CAD modeling of approved final designs through the hand off to manufacturing. Duties also include leading design-related projects focused on increasing revenue, reducing expenses and the cost of products, and improving the quality of products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage multiple projects from concept to production release including: Coordinate the scheduling and completion of multiple design projects Develop 3D solid models for new products Coordinate & facilitate both internal & external prototyping development effort Coordinate and facilitate tool and manufacturing capability studies with the engineering team to assure that all new products meet standards and specifications Lead the effort to assure that all new products established process conditions and "Fit for Use" criteria May have primary product design responsibility for key, selected customers REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must be highly skilled in 3D Solid-modeling software; advanced level of knowledge with SolidWorks required Must be proficient in surfaces modeling Natural ability and feel for aesthetic design Capable of managing multiple projects Strong communication and organizational skills, be detail oriented and able to design for specific manufacturing standards Must have good project leadership skills, be able to work independently and on team projects QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent.
Experience
Requires 5+ (five) years relevant product design experience in plastics manufacturing 2+ years experience in designs for thermoformed and or plastic packaging a plus 2+ years experience working with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
