Mechanical Design Job at Azad Technology Partners in Portland

AZAD Technology Partners is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a full-time, W2 Contract position based in Andover, MA.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, On-site.

Assignment Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extending.

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation is between $35.00 - $38.00 hourly. Benefits include co-paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Cafeteria Plan, and 401k, as well as the option for Paid Time Off (dependent on amount requested).

We are looking for an exceptional Mechanical Designer who can collaborate across various functions within Engineering and Manufacturing to create technical 3D designs along with full documentation to support the development of state-of-the-art vacuum and pressure measurement instrumentation and test equipment.

What you will do:

1. Work closely with product design engineers to update, create and edit detailed 3D models and CAD drawings.
2. Transform concepts and sketches into designs; Solid modeling, design optimization, integration of components, detailed design of parts and drawings using GD&T.
3. Contribute design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
4. Check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
5. Work with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
6. Support design activities including hands-on assembly of prototype equipment using basic hand tools.
7. May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
8. Other activities as needed.

What you will bring to the team:

1. 4-6 years of experience with mechanical design.
2. Proficiency with PLM/PDM applications like SolidWorks EPDM or PTC WindChill.
3. Knowledge of ECO and ECR processes.
4. Experience in the design of electro-mechanical systems.
5. Familiarity with common fabrication methods (machining, sheet metal, casting).
6. Ability to use assembly tools and equipment, read difficult instructions and maintain written records.
