Overview

Bowhead is seeking a Graphics Specialist for the upcoming DTRA Multimedia Support Services effort in Fort Belvoir, VA. This program will provide printing, photography-videography, graphics, and audiovisual/VTC (AV/VTC) support services to the DTRA VI Division in support of the Agency.

Responsibilities

1. Operate large format and high-capacity printers (laser, toner, and inkjet), and print graphics as needed per customer request or direction of the COR.
2. Operate large cutters (mat, vinyl, contour) and engravers as needed per customer request or by direction of the COR.
3. Operate laminator, adhesive boards, heat rollers, and other equipment related to graphic design, printing, and fabrication of artwork.
4. Operate Microsoft Windows and Apple computers and their operating systems (including hardware and software), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects to program, set up functions, create graphic designs and concepts, and process information.
5. Advise clients on the most appropriate media for their project.
6. Apply artistic skill to produce detailed scientific and technical illustrations with a high degree of accuracy.
7. Design graphics, animations, multimedia, and interactive content within parameters for specific systems and end users.
8. Troubleshoot problems with visual information output devices.
9. Develop visual aids and charts for use in lectures/presentations/training evolutions.
10. Develop, create, and maintain content for DTRA digital signage systems.
11. Participate in the design, layout, and production of brochures, pamphlets, illustrations, briefings, signs, displays, and other materials. The Government will provide a copy of the DTRA Style Guide upon contract award.
12. Maintain and archive current and stored file images and final products according to Government-provided VI protocol.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Five (5) years’ experience in the principles, methods, and techniques used in the preparation of graphics materials, as well as the associated software and equipment.
2. Advanced visual arts methods, techniques, and materials and the ability to translate spoken or written descriptions into visual media.
3. Subject matter nomenclature and terminology as applied to military topics.
4. Publication design and electronic pre-press preparation for various printing types.
5. Internet technologies and ability to design graphics, animations, and interactive content.
6. Visual information output devices including configuration and troubleshooting.
7. Color spaces and palettes for specific media and application of color management.
8. Advanced computer graphics technology to develop, recommend, and maintain VI systems.

Physical Demands

1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
2. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
3. Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
