Our client, a global technology company that builds end-to-end solutions for immersive experiences, is seeking a Curriculum Writer with a strong background in astronomy to create dynamic and educational materials for their captivating planetarium shows that inspire curiosity about space and science. This role involves developing a collection of guides, outlines, and templates designed to make complex astronomical concepts engaging and accessible for children. You Will:

  • Research and align curriculum content with federal educational standards, ensuring materials meet national guidelines
  • Evaluate film content for different age groups, focusing on topics like space travel, biospheres, and the evolution of life
  • Write and design curriculum guides that cover topics such as:
    • Orbital: Astronomy with an emphasis on space travel and biospheres
    • Seek: Biology with a focus on climate science
    • Liquidverse: A blend of astronomy and biology exploring the Big Bang and the evolution of life in water
    • Inside Pop Art: A look at modern art with connections to astronomical concepts
  • Collaborate with production, marketing, and sales teams to create engaging, fun, and educational content for planetarium partners
  • Build relationships within the educational community to identify opportunities for collaboration and enhance educational outreach
  • Ensure content is designed to be both educational and entertaining for children, making complex scientific concepts fun and accessible

You Have:

  • A background in astronomy and experience creating educational content around this subject
  • 3+ years of teaching experience, particularly in science or astronomy, with a focus on creating engaging materials for children
  • Experience writing educational content that meets national standards and engages young audiences
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
  • A passion for making complex scientific concepts fun, educational, and accessible
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote team environment
  • Self-motivated and a collaborative team player

Logistics:

  • Projected Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: As needed
  • Hours/Week: Project-based work
  • Onsite/Offsite: Fully remote
  • Laptop/Program Requirements: Must be able to work on your own laptop
  • Team Structure: Working closely with the Sr. Production Specialist
  • Project Rate: $2,500 per curriculum guide
