Position Summary:

Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Director of Creative Content in the Athletics department. The candidate would be expected to coordinate all elements, including scheduling, shooting and editing, of creative content, including but not limited to: creative video and content of selected athletic events, live games and features; produce video content for use on department’s official digital platforms (social media, official website), develop content for in-venue video boards.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Required Years of Experience: 2

Required Degree, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism or related field
  • Two years of experience in video production editing
  • Experience shooting video in sports
  • Proficiency with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite and After Effects
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, and travel with teams as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a college or university athletics program, league office or professional sports team

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all elements, including scheduling, shooting and editing, of interviews, highlights of selected athletic events, video board content and features
  • Create videos to be publicized to department’s official digital platforms (social media, official website)
  • Develop strategy for sporting event highlight packages and distribution as well as fan engagement content for Monmouth’s in-venue video boards
  • Collaborate and produce features, profiles, and other original video content for social media platforms and MonmouthHawks.com
  • Archive and log footage, highlights, melts and original content including interviews
  • Work in a flexible, collaborative manner in a fast-paced environment while under pressure of meeting strict deadlines
  • Travel to selected athletic events to capture content
  • Stay current with emerging technologies as they develop

Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), and any conferences or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
