Position Summary

The English Department offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to meet the needs of students with diverse interests and backgrounds. Students in the Department of English acquire experience in inter-textual and cross-disciplinary inquiry, learning critical approaches to texts that enable them to interpret, compare positions, and write with insight and expertise.

Responsibilities

Qualified instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Technical and Professional Writing. Courses include:

  1. WR 227: Introduction to Technical Writing
  2. WR 327: Technical Report Writing
  3. WR 431/531: Advanced Topics in Technical Writing Technologies

Minimum Qualifications

  1. For WR 227/327: Prior experience teaching college-level technical, professional, or business writing.
  2. For WR 431/531: Documentable and extensive professional experience using industry-standard technical communication technology tools.
  3. For all courses: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. For all courses: Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  2. For WR 227/327: Prior experience teaching at the college-level.
  3. For WR 431/531: Professional experience in technical writing.

Compensation

Base rate at minimum $1,271 per credit.
