Position Summary

The English Department offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to meet the needs of students with diverse interests and professional backgrounds. By studying literature, rhetoric, composition, and critical theory, students acquire experience in inter-textual and cross-disciplinary inquiry.
Position Summary
The Publishing Program seeks qualified instructors to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including:
- WR 331 Book Publishing for Writers
- WR 410/510: Entrepreneurship in Publishing
- WR 460/560: Introduction to Book Publishing
- WR 461/561: Book Editing
- WR 462/562: Book Design Software
- WR 463/563: Book Marketing
- WR 466/566: Digital Skills
- WR 471/571: Typography, Layout, and Production
- WR 472/572: Copyediting
- WR 473/573: Developmental Editing
- WR 476/576: Publishing for Young Adults
- WR 477/577: Children’s Book Publishing
- WR 480/580: Advanced Book Design
- WR 582: Literary Agents and Acquisitions
Minimum Qualifications
Professional experience in the area of publishing suitable to the course content.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution and prior college-level teaching experience.

Compensation
Base rate at minimum $1,271 per credit.
