Position Description
The goal of the Packaging / Graphic Designer is to create compelling and on-brand logos, layouts and graphics for packaging and graphic design needs across multiple brands and a wide range of products that help increase sales across all channels and delight our fans. In addition to the accountabilities listed below, other duties and projects may be assigned.
Primary Accountabilities
Packaging Design
Create and design logos, packaging, rules, and other materials for plushies, games and other products to maximize shelf appeal, sales, and usability.
Create style guides to accompany plushies, games and other new products to set the tone for other graphics and influence future expansions and product line extensions.
Conceptualize new packaging concepts for both existing and newly developed product lines to ensure functionality, appeal, and retail viability.
Create exciting, on-brand graphics and logos for all games packaging, including box design and rules/card layouts, following established style guides and/or assisting in the creation of new ones to maintain consistency while maximizing shelf appeal, sales, and usability.
Graphic Design
Create compelling, on-brand graphic design assets for E-comm megasales and promotions to effectively advertise our products to new and existing customers, maximize click-through rates, and improve user experience.
Create graphic design assets for all sales channels to maximize the success of new releases and product launches and deliver a consistent, high-quality end-to-end user experience.
Create new and templated graphics that maintain general updated and accurate brand representation and ensure effective user experience across all sales channels in multiple digital and printed environments.
Create digital and printed assets for special projects that include trade shows, printed magazines and catalogs, and a variety of digital assets for vendors for all sales channels to promote our brand through new and existing means and generate the revenue of our products.
Create digital site comps of our products for E-comm purposes that ensure high quality product representation to our customers across all brands.
Proofing and Quality Assurance
Ensure packaging files contain the correct legal information, UPCs and lot, dom, and batch data to ensure all files are complete before they are forwarded on to factories.
Accurately review digital files, prototype photography/videos, and physical samples during game and other product proofing activities to ensure print files are set up correctly, all compliance and legal requirements are met, and quality of printed design work is high.
Participate in both product and copy proofing and prototyping processes to ensure all technical, safety, and labeling requirements are met and the quality of products artwork is high.
Ensure the current versions of all technical and product files are up to date and labeled properly to ensure clear communication with factories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Review files and logos for game localization processes, providing design guidance to internal and third party localization partners as needed to ensure brand standards are met and costly production errors are avoided.
Collaborate with the design, marketing, and game teams on products and projects to prevent roadblocks and facilitate access to information.
Communicate timelines, status updates, packaging & product requirements, and design development roadblocks or delays with the correct teams on assigned cross-departmental projects to keep projects organized and maintain a smooth workflow.
Suggest and implement process improvements for the packaging design team as well as for the entire creative team to maximize output and minimize frustration.
Follow all departmental process requirements and update any required packaging or design documentation and tracking tools appropriately and in a timely manner to keep product development moving and on track.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of design experience for both print and digital media.
Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Demonstrated understanding of composition, color theory, light, and form.
Ability to adhere to strict style guidelines across multiple brands.
Experience creating packaging design for consumer goods.
Experience with pre-press and file configuration.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 + up to 10% bonus eligibility.
