A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled associate to join its Copyright, Trademark, Internet, and Advertising practice group in New York. This role is ideal for an attorney with 2-4 years of litigation experience, particularly in the areas of copyright, trademark, and advertising law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, conducting discovery, preparing legal motions, and supporting clients in matters related to intellectual property.

Duties:

1. Prepare and manage discovery for litigation cases, ensuring timely and accurate submission of relevant documents.
2. Draft substantive legal motions, memoranda, and briefs to support litigation efforts.
3. Collaborate with experts to develop case strategy and build compelling arguments.
4. Attend court hearings, depositions, and trial preparation sessions.
5. Advise clients on legal issues related to copyright, trademark, advertising, and internet law.
6. Assist in copyright and trademark prosecution and counseling.
7. Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and client advisory work.
8. Prepare written and oral advocacy materials to present in court.
9. Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to clients.

Requirements:

1. 2-4 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on copyright, trademark, advertising, or internet law.
2. Strong track record of drafting legal motions, discovery, and other key litigation documents.
3. Experience in preparing for and attending court hearings and depositions.
4. Familiarity with copyright and trademark prosecution, and internet-related intellectual property issues.
5. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with written and oral advocacy.
8. A client-focused approach to legal practice with strong interpersonal skills.

Education:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
2. Strong academic credentials and law school performance.

Certifications:

1. Admission to practice law in New York or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Skills:

1. Proficiency in legal research tools and case management systems.
2. Experience in drafting and negotiating intellectual property-related legal documents.
3. Expertise in copyright, trademark, and advertising law.
4. Familiarity with internet-related IP matters and regulations.
