Job Description

Telemundo El Paso is currently looking for an individual with a comprehensive understanding of television news production, as well as outstanding writing and verbal communication skills. The individual must also have knowledge of the Adobe editing system and camera operation.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for shooting, writing, and editing daily stories for “on-air” and digital productions, as well as gathering material to contribute to building the rundown.
2. Assist in the production of the live broadcast.
3. Keep up to date on current events and news in our state.
4. Participate in community events and station activities as Master of Ceremonies and/or Host, as requested by the station.
5. Gather news information and prepare presentations for live, online, streaming productions, and social media.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 2 years of experience working in Spanish market broadcast television.
2. Be informed on news events locally and nationally.
3. Develop and maintain a network of contacts providing access to exclusive stories.
4. Assist producer in establishing sources, finding, and executing enterprise news investigations, building, and maintaining a strong list of story ideas.
5. Ability to ad-lib and improvise effortlessly in various types of on-air situations.
6. Ability to work well under pressure with an ability to meet deadlines.
7. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, both written and verbal.
8. A high level of skill and mastery of the Spanish language is essential.
9. Work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment.
10. Independent problem solving and multi-tasking.
11. Active driver’s license and excellent driving record.
12. Flexibility in schedule, ability to work any schedule including holidays.
13. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a photojournalist.
14. BS/BA in Journalism/Communications.
15. Strong Spanish writing and verbal skills.
16. Must be willing to work in El Paso, TX.
17. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
18. Must be 18 years or older.
19. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
20. The position requires traveling.
