Responsibilities:
- Teach beginning music to students who have had little or no musical experience.
- Trimester musical performances for parents and community members.
- Instruct choir, color guard flags, and percussion instruments.
- Teaching music appreciation.
- Teaching an honors band class to proficient musical students.
- Keep inventory of band equipment, flags, etc.
- May travel to instruct elementary students grades TK - 6th.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Credential: Clear or Preliminary Single Subject Credential.
- Education: Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
- Experience: Student teaching (8 semester hours or 180 clock hours) or two years of full-time classroom teaching experience.
- OR Eligibility for: Provisional Internship Permit (PIP); Short Term Staff Permit (STSP), University or District Intern.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health. Better than average recommendations from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher.
