We're looking for a collaborative, creative, and organized Marketing Manager to join our team and lead our marketing program in sharing and growing Maplewood Brewery & Distillery in all of our markets. The ideal candidate is someone that can blend creative vision and analytical insight as you communicate our story as uniquely and effectively as possible. Past experience with establishing marketing campaigns and creating content in craft beer, craft spirits, food or hospitality, is required.
You will be asked to take an imaginative and professional approach to content creation, and must be ready to execute when inspiration hits. Effective communication and the ability to follow a budget is a must. Our marketing campaigns reflect the same polish and hard work that goes into our products, and a high level of organization in addition to project management skills are required to succeed at this position.

Responsibilities
- Oversee Maplewood marketing projects and brand initiatives to support the Maplewood distribution footprint and production taproom.
- Collaborate and integrate across all key Maplewood teams (Sales, Creative, Design, Production, Taproom, etc.) to meet sales and marketing goals.
- Create and edit content in photo, video, graphic, and text formats for social media posts, product launches, programs, newsletters, advertising, and other brand materials. Manage the creation and editing of content. Maintain organization of all physical and digital marketing department assets.
- Manage all social media accounts, including content creation, copy writing, and developing a cohesive schedule to represent all brand segments while maintaining a consistent identity, standards, and brand voice. Utilize data driven insights to determine opportunities, adapt strategy, and boost engagement and outreach.
- Manage all Maplewood website, webstore, and other online content including brand and product updates, newsletters, event listings, and other general information.
- Manage Maplewood merchandise and POS items from end-to-end, including generating unique merch concepts, communicating with vendors and placing orders, fulfilling/packing/shipping customer orders, supporting on & off-site event POS needs, and monitoring inventory across Maplewood and distributor warehouses.
- Maintain event/festival calendar and information for all market and taproom events. Communicate with event organizers, schedule staff, and oversee event equipment. Participate in activation and working of key events and festivals in the market and on-site at the Taproom.
- Partner with Sales to oversee Maplewood Brand Ambassador team, including onboarding/training, and supporting all departments in scheduling events in the market and on-site.
- Advise and follow marketing department budget for all materials, equipment, and promotional spends (advertising, merchandise, POS, events, sponsorships, donations, and more.)
- Note: This position is primarily based at Maplewood Brewery & Distillery (Chicago), and the candidate will be expected to be on site, with opportunities for at home office hours.
Qualification and Skills
- Required: 3+ years of Marketing experience in the beverage industry (or related industry)
- Minimum 4 year degree in Marketing, Business, or related field is required
- Ability to photograph on a professional level – please include a Photography Portfolio with Resume
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other tools as needed to create and edit content
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, Slack, and other work management software
- Strong written and communication skills, with a relationship-building personality and high standards for customer service
- Organized, self-motivated, and has the ability to independently solve problems and manage time effectively
- Strong ability to work with teams and receive/provide constructive feedback
- Comprehensive knowledge of the craft beverage industry and emerging trends
- Must have a clean driving record, own a reliable car, and be willing to travel
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift 35 lbs and use dolly to transport/maneuver 170 lbs Kegs
- Illinois Basset Certification must be completed before start date
- Optional: Server-Certified Cicerone or Certified Cicerone
