Summary of Position:

The Marketing Manager leads the company in the ideation and execution of all aspects related to marketing, operations, and products. This role reports to ownership and the Director of Operations, while collaborating with upper management, including the Wine Club Manager, Events Manager, and Tasting Room Manager. The position plays a key role in brand strategy and advertising, takes the lead on all social media and email campaigns, and focuses on enhancing both in-person and digital experiences for our consumers.

Skills Required:

An animated passion for wine and the wine industry with a significant drive to learn the details of our business and our products in order to effectively communicate and market them.

  1. Experience managing digital marketing platforms (Instagram, Meta, TikTok, Google) and a sincere drive to utilize and innovate on those platforms
  2. Experience with email marketing and campaigns
  3. Proficient in writing and communication skills with a polished, professional presentation.
  4. Experience and drive to utilize and innovate with all new forms of technology
  5. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with good attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work effectively with internal and external teams to gain consensus and achieve goals.
  7. Creative, strategic thinker who knows how to use marketing channels and personal communication to gain customer loyalty.
  8. Highly accurate, organized and detail oriented, with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  9. Self-motivated and willing to assume additional responsibilities when applicable.
  10. Ability to anticipate future challenges and respond appropriately.
  11. Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with company policies.

  13. Ability to market and create a brand culture, with the goal of generating departmental profits.

Marketing Duties:

Understand the brand and its growth-focused needs and objectives. Develop a plan to promote brand recognition, consumer growth and retention, and focus on revenue generating strategies.

  1. Work closely with management team to:

    1. Market and drive E-Commerce sales
    2. Market and drive Tasting Room sales
    3. Market and drive Wine Club Sales and membership growth
    4. Identify and outline opportunity gaps, competitive activity and consumer-driven insights
  2. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies against sales targets, heavily taking into account the return on investment
  3. Identify and develop opportunities for partnerships to drive awareness, consideration and growth
  4. Work with and become proficient in Commerce7 POS & analytics software in order to view necessary reporting and build promotional material

Social Media Duties:

Play a lead role in the ideation, organization, development and execution of the companies social media strategy and platforms.

  1. This includes but is not limited to:

    1. Instagram, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter
    2. Community Engagement - interacting with followers via comments, stories etc.
    3. Monitor inboxes for customer questions
  2. Create a “Media Schedule” that includes:

    1. Current and new wine releases, upcoming events, ranch/vineyard/winery life, company, community, wine education and much more!
  3. Design and work with management and a photographer to schedule and capture necessary assets to support the media and marketing schedule.

Email Duties:

Develop and execute targeted email campaigns to effectively inform, sell products, market and grow the wine club. These would often coincide with social media campaigns.

  1. Topics for email campaigns could include current and new wine releases, upcoming events, ranch/vineyard/winery life, company, community, wine education and much more!
  2. Design or work with designer to develop a consistent cohesive template for all emails
  3. Design or collect all creative assets for emails including:

    1. Creating shot lists for photographers to capture
    2. Capture photos when necessary
    3. Working with designer to create email assets to support strategy and vision

Event Duties:

  1. Work closely with the Events Manager to help promote and capture (leading up to and day of) Event marketing material for post-event social and future marketing usage.
  2. Required to work all wine club events

Website:

  1. Regularly audit and work with website developers to update the website to provide the best user experience to our consumers and membership.
  2. Manages all content and page updates when necessary.

    Topics include:

    1. SEO optimized blogs
    2. Recipe additions and updates
    3. All compliance policies
  3. Monitor analytics to ensure to no major issues arise (broken links, long load times, poorly designed customer pathways)

Tasting Room Duties:

Regular tasting room presence required throughout the year to gain marketing insight.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (required)
Continuing or formal Wine Education (appreciated but not required) (WSET, CMS)

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability and desire to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  2. Ability to work on feet for at least 8 hours, lift and carry a case of wine (40 lbs).
  3. At least 21 years of age.
  4. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  5. Ability to travel as required by the job components described above.
