Department Summary:

The department is responsible for telling the BSU story to the institution’s diverse campus community including current and prospective students, faulty and staff, alumni and donors, and the general public – all of which enhances BSU’s reputation. The team in University News and Digital Media creates digital content seen on BSU’s official social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Successful candidates will be staff members that can work collaboratively with their colleagues in Marketing and across the university to meet the mission of the department in serving, supporting and enhancing our racially and ethnically diverse campus community and in driving enrollment.

Position Summary:

The Videographer / Visual Content Producer works for the division of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications. Under the direction of the Senior Producer of Video Content, this position will be responsible for producing dynamic, high energy and creative videos and photographs for the university’s social media channels, website, marketing campaigns and external communications. This position will play a central role in the efforts to enhance strategic marketing objectives, attract potential students, retain current students, assist in fundraising and amplify the university’s brand across a wide variety of platforms.

This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work in accordance with BSU remote work policy.

This is a full-time, 12-month APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Position Type: APA Professional

Essential Duties:

Responsible for all aspects of video production from concept to completion, including storyboarding, scripting, directing, interviewing, videography, lighting, audio and post-production. Secondary responsibilities will include photography & image post-processing. Assist in managing, organizing and maintaining the university’s digital asset library. Build working relationships with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff to capture and tell stories of all student and employee activities and achievements. Manage, maintain and organize the university’s official digital photography library. Fulfill photo/video requests from across campus for special events, institutional functions and faculty portraits. Collaborate with student videographers on university projects. Collaborate with the Director of Social Media & Digital Communications to create visual content for social media platforms. Collaborate with freelancers as needed. These duties may include working some nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

Experience with professional video equipment. Possess a video portfolio showcasing relevant work as a primary creator. Experience with industry standard video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, etc.). Experience working collaboratively with others on creative projects. Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Ability to work effectively in a diverse community. Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Ability to juggle multiple priorities. Ability to build working relationships with students, faculty, administrators and staff. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to accommodate planned programming initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with professional lighting and audio equipment and techniques. Experience with event and/or portrait photography. Experience with photo editing software and techniques. Demonstrates attention to detail with digital file management. Experience with color correction and color grading video footage. Ability to work as a field producer and conduct interviews. Demonstrated ability to produce digital graphics and assets related to video production (such as logo animations, animated text, video thumbnails, etc.).
