• Department of Energy
• Bureau of Reclamation
• Bureau of Indian Affairs
• State of New Mexico

Job Description

• Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization.
• Research grant opportunities from federal and state government and non-government agencies.
• Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
• Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval.
• Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
• Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
• Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive field (e.g., English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communication)
• Advanced certification or vocational diploma in grant writing is a plus
• At least two years of experience as a grant writer for a nonprofit organization
• Applicant should have a working knowledge of Grants.gov and/or Grant Solutions.gov
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
