Job Details
Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects of medium complexity and size.
  • Inspire creativity, critical thinking, and design excellence both within the team and externally.
  • Conceptualize building designs from both functional and aesthetic perspectives, aligning with client requirements, budgets, and project programs.
  • Develop designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express design intent and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and building user groups.
  • Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
  • Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
  • Present designs to stakeholders during early project phases and develop building designs in accordance with cost parameters.
  • Develop space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with the building program.
  • Evaluate and select building systems and materials.
  • Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles into the project and overall environment.
  • Analyze site conditions, including geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, social, economic, and contextual factors.
  • Participate in the development of project programs and other pre-design activities.
  • Ensure design intent is preserved through documentation and construction.
  • Lead project teams, conduct design critiques and pin-ups, and support others in achieving design excellence.
  • Contribute to employee performance reviews and participate in interviews for potential team members.

Skills and Credentials:
  • 8+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience working within the PK-12 market is highly preferred.
  • Client-focused, highly organized, and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred.
  • Architectural licensure is required.
