Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects of medium complexity and size.
- Inspire creativity, critical thinking, and design excellence both within the team and externally.
- Conceptualize building designs from both functional and aesthetic perspectives, aligning with client requirements, budgets, and project programs.
- Develop designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express design intent and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and building user groups.
- Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
- Present designs to stakeholders during early project phases and develop building designs in accordance with cost parameters.
- Develop space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with the building program.
- Evaluate and select building systems and materials.
- Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
- Integrate sustainable design principles into the project and overall environment.
- Analyze site conditions, including geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, social, economic, and contextual factors.
- Participate in the development of project programs and other pre-design activities.
- Ensure design intent is preserved through documentation and construction.
- Lead project teams, conduct design critiques and pin-ups, and support others in achieving design excellence.
- Contribute to employee performance reviews and participate in interviews for potential team members.
Skills and Credentials:
- 8+ years of professional experience.
- Experience working within the PK-12 market is highly preferred.
- Client-focused, highly organized, and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
- LEED accreditation is preferred.
- Architectural licensure is required.
