JOB DESCRIPTION

The Enterprise Application & Architecture Operational Support Project aims to modernize and transform the DOEs technology systems to better support its mission of delivering equity and excellence in education. The projects primary purpose is to improve the efficiency, scalability, security, and sustainability of DOEs enterprise applications and supporting architecture. By doing so, it ensures that technology can effectively meet the evolving needs of DOEs vast network of schools, educators, students, and families.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The UX/UI Designer will lead user research throughout the software development process, starting from the Discovery phase.
  • They will conduct testing, create research guides, and produce key outputs like personal and journey maps to inform the design.
  • The UX Designer will build interactive prototypes using tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision, refining designs based on user feedback.
  • The UI Developer will turn these designs into functional, responsive front-end solutions using modern web technologies.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

  • 8+ years of experience conducting user research and creating deliverables (personas, journey maps) to inform design.
  • Proficiency in tools like Sketch, InVision, and Adobe XD to create user-friendly prototypes, ensuring accessibility (WCAG 2.0).
  • Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to build responsive, cross-browser prototypes.
  • Ability to refine designs based on continuous user testing and feedback.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate design and research findings effectively.
