Digitization Lab Supervisor (Library Associate II)

Georgia State University Library is hiring a Digitization Lab Supervisor within the Digital Projects unit of Digital Library Services. Reporting to the Digital Projects Coordinator, the scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

• Serve as the primary supervisor for the Student Assistants by hiring/firing, training, and disciplining when necessary. Conduct quality control of student work and refine student assistant performance.
• Act as the unit registrar by retrieving, processing, and preparing library materials for digitization and long-term digital storage.
• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of equipment and processes.
• Act as the primary technical support for programmatic library digitization equipment and primary contact for digitization support vendor.
• Use scanners and cameras with appropriate capture software to convert textual and other material formats into digital images to meet project standards.
• Create original metadata descriptions and records for digital assets.
• Participate in special initiatives and projects.
