Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer for infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will prepare technical documents, including specifications and procedures, and simplify complex concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical reports, including specifications, procedures, and standards, related to track and structures procurement packages.
- Collaborate with project teams to draft written materials and ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with client expectations.
- Work with staff and other offices to collect lessons learned and update client documentation, including the Adjacent Construction Project Manual (ACPM).
- Submit daily logs through the client’s Procore system in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update a comment and response database to track feedback and revisions.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in preparing technical documents, including standards, operating procedures (SOPs), and handbooks.
- Proficient in managing technical documentation using information management systems.
- Experience in track engineering and track maintenance technical writing, including creating specifications, material standards, and process flow charts.
- Strong communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for diverse trades and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools for creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- Experience using publishing software, markup, or web-based languages for document creation and management.
- Ability to interpret various instructions, including written, oral, diagrammatic, or checklist formats.
- Experience in studying drawings, specifications, and mockups to integrate and outline technology, operating procedures, and production sequences.
- Skilled in understanding and translating technical instructions, equipment standards, and regulatory requirements into clear, written documents.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to project schedules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
