Job Description
The Graphic Design Consultant (Casual Employee) will provide expert design support by developing high-quality visual content for Events DC. This position will focus on creating innovative design solutions across multiple media platforms, including digital, print, and video. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative background, with the ability to manage projects from concept to execution, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget. The Graphic Design Consultant will work under the guidance of the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Creative Services and collaborate with internal teams to deliver designs that align with the brand's vision, strategic goals, and production standards.
Responsibilities
Creative Direction and Strategy:
Lead the creative design process, contributing to the development of visual strategies for digital, print, web site, podcasts, social media, promos, corporate presentations and video content and multimedia projects. Design Execution:
Create visually compelling designs, including graphics, layouts, and other visual assets, ensuring consistency with Events DC branding and objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, editorial, and production teams to ensure alignment of design assets with campaign objectives and organizational goals. Branding and Visual Identity:
Ensure consistency in visual elements across all digital, print, web site, podcasts, social media, promos, corporate presentations and video content, maintaining alignment with Events DC's branding and visual identity guidelines. Content Creation:
Design and develop graphics, motion graphics, and other media assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign), ensuring high-quality output for a variety of platforms. Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions on schedule. Consultation and Advisory:
Provide creative consultation to internal teams and external clients, offering expert advice on design trends, visual strategies, and technical specifications. Quality Control:
Review and refine design work to ensure the highest level of quality, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications and brand standards. Technical Proficiency:
Ensure that designs meet the necessary technical specifications for all digital, print, web site, podcasts, social media, promos, corporate presentations and video content video formats, and troubleshoot any design-related issues. Vendor and Budget Oversight : Collaborate with external vendors and freelancers, managing project budgets and ensuring that creative services are delivered within financial constraints. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Fine Arts, or related field, or a combination of equivalent work experience. Experience:
At least 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, with expertise in both print and digital design. Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign), with strong video production and motion graphics skills. Project Management:
Proven ability to manage design projects from concept to delivery, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
