The Tulsa City-County Library Marketing & Communications team is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong writing and editing skills to support marketing efforts by sending press releases, identifying and securing media opportunities, posting to social media, and creating or reviewing branded content in Canva. If you enjoy creative marketing and are interested in helping connect Tulsa County with all that the library has to offer, then this is the job for you!

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

1. Research and write fact sheets, media releases, speeches, talking points, social media posts, articles, etc., coordinating with library staff as needed.
2. Contact media outlets with press releases, feature ideas, and interview requests to secure publicity.
3. Work with TCCL staff to find appropriate options for media inquiries and interviews and prepare staff with relevant talking points as needed.
4. Assist the Marketing & Communications team with coordination and completion of writing assignments for library-related special projects and campaigns.
5. Track social media analytics through various social media channels, compiling monthly statistical reports.
6. Monitor all social media accounts for TCCL and answer queries received on our system-wide social platforms.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, or related field required;
2. One or more years of experience preparing content for a social media platform required;
3. Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience;

Physical Activity & Environmental Conditions:

Work occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions. The job may involve dealing with moderately unpleasant situations, such as occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of video display terminals.
