Position: PR and Brand Activation Marketing Intern
Location: KEEN’s Global Headquarters in Portland, Oregon (on-site)
Duration: 10 weeks
Compensation: $20/hour
Program Duration: Monday, June 16th – Friday, August 22nd

What You'll Do

As the PR and Brand Activation Marketing Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting influencer marketing, public relations, and activation initiatives. This position offers hands-on experience in the execution of brand campaigns, collaboration with key agency partners, and working with the social team to ensure there is alignment in strategy. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to bring the brand's vision to life through storytelling and consumer engagement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of PR initiatives for key product launches
  • Work with social influencer specialist to facilitate micro/nano influencer product seeding strategy
    • Cross functional work with social team
    • Ensure alignment between social and PR
  • Co-manage press preview event with PR agency partner
  • Facilitate and co-manage macro/celebrity influencer product seeding through PR agency partner
  • Co-manage consumer events with paid media/activation agency partners
  • Assist with day-to-day marketing tasks including attending agency meetings, preparing and sharing of reports, tracking campaign performance, and organizing marketing materials
  • Ensure all marketing assets, reports, and documents are stored and easily accessible for the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or experience in marketing, brand communications, PR or social media is a plus.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.
  • Must be able to dedicate 40 hours/week toward the internship during normal M-F PST working hours
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines.
  • Able to sit and/or stand at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Program Requirements:

  • Be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Commit to a 10-week program from mid-June through mid-August
  • Dedicate 40 hours per week during standard M-F, PST working hours
  • All roles are located in Portland, OR. Must be able to move to Portland during the duration of the internship if you are not already living here.
  • Plan no more than four total days of vacation during the internship
