As a Technical Writer Intern at FinThrive, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the clarity and accessibility of documentation for our diverse range of products. Your efforts will ensure that all stakeholders, from users to developers and support teams, understand the features and functionalities of our releases. By improving and standardizing our documentation, you will contribute significantly to the usability and customer experience of FinThrive's solutions.
What you will do
- Rewrite web help solution documentation to ensure clarity and up-to-date information.
- Participate in the Online Help rebranding project, standardizing documentation across all FinThrive products.
- Clean up and organize the documentation repository to remove outdated projects and ensure consistency with FinThrive branding.
- Collaborate with Scrum teams to create and update release notes for products lacking current documentation.
- Work alongside the technical writing team and other departments to maintain and improve documentation processes and standards.
- Travel required: minimal, limited to a 4-day in-person orientation at FinThrive headquarters in Plano, TX.
What you will bring
- Strong communication skills, capable of writing clear and concise documentation that meets the needs of diverse audiences.
- Technical proficiency, particularly in using documentation tools and understanding software development processes.
- Excellent research, analysis, and proofreading abilities to produce accurate and thorough documentation.
- A collaborative spirit, ready to work effectively within a team and across departments.
What we would like to see
- Currently pursuing a degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in documentation.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks as needed.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new tools and technologies in technical writing.
- An interest in long-term career development within the field of technical writing, aiming to contribute to continuous improvements in documentation practices.
