Amazon MGM Studios is the home for talent, creating and producing Original films and television series for a global audience. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video, which is available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video.
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Senior Operations Manager to join our Studios Marketing Operations (SMO) team. This role will serve as a chief of staff to the SMO leader, managing critical functions including team communications, executive meeting preparation, and strategic initiative oversight. You will be responsible for designing and implementing operational strategies across Studios Marketing, including team structures, variable headcount (vHC) initiatives, and offshore resourcing strategies. The position requires someone who can efficiently manage both high-level strategic projects and day-to-day operational processes while maintaining strong analytical capabilities to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with exceptional organizational and communication skills. You'll manage the SMO leader's key priorities, coordinate executive communications, and ensure smooth operation of critical business functions. This includes overseeing comprehensive reporting and analytics programs, translating data into actionable insights, and managing cross-functional initiatives that drive organizational efficiency. You'll serve as a key liaison between leadership and various teams, maintaining clear communication channels and coordinating high-priority projects. Success in this role requires excellence in stakeholder management, diplomatic skills, and the ability to anticipate and address organizational needs before they arise. We're looking for a dynamic professional who can navigate complex organizational dynamics while maintaining confidentiality and executing both strategic and tactical responsibilities with equal effectiveness.
Key job responsibilities
Executive Support & Strategic Operations
Serve as chief of staff to SMO leader, managing priorities, communications, and strategic initiatives
Lead preparation and follow-through for executive meetings, off-sites, and planning sessions
Oversee team charters, goals, and strategic alignment across Studios Marketing
Drive vHC initiatives and offshore resourcing strategies
Manage contingent workforce programs, including compliance and audits
Implement operational improvement initiatives across Studios Marketing
Team & Communications Management
Coordinate cross-functional communication channels and regular team meetings
Maintain internal communications tools, newsletters, and documentation
Partner with leadership on organizational structure and reporting relationships
Foster stakeholder relationships and cross-team collaboration
Handle confidential information with appropriate discretion
Analytics & Reporting
Develop and maintain dashboards tracking team performance and KPIs
Prepare executive reports and presentations for leadership reviews
Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making
Monitor operational metrics and identify improvement opportunities
Project Leadership
Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from conception to completion
Establish project frameworks, timelines, and resource requirements
Drive change management and process improvement initiatives
Identify and mitigate operational risks and bottlenecks
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience
7+ years experience in operations management, preferably in a creative advertising, marketing or entertainment industry context
Project management skills with experience in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using relevant tools (Smartsheet, Airtable, Excel, etc.) and platforms
Experience with budget management, capacity planning and financial reporting
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to support senior leadership while also taking ownership of key responsibilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
