Job Responsibilities:

The CAD Designer Intern prepares 3D math data, working layouts and typical sections of automotive vehicle components/packaging, assemblies or systems from engineering specifications, prior layouts, well-defined sketches, and engineering instructions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design parts and packages systems in a manner which reflects the forming processes and capabilities of manufacturing and assembly tooling.
  • Create 2D drawings that are completed with enough data to ensure the part could be manufactured, quoted, or gauged for functionality.
  • Work in part management system (Teamcenter) to store and release parts and assemblies.
  • Practice proper modeling techniques which allow part/package to be easily modified during later engineering changes.
  • Understand and apply geometric dimensioning & tolerance (GD&T) to component and systems designs.
Qualifications
  • Experience in CAD tools. For example, Solidworks, NX, and Catia
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and PLM
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
