CatFace is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Writer to craft engaging and captivating Minecraft videos that entertain millions of viewers daily. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced YouTube environment, excels at collaboration, and is eager to adapt to creative feedback and evolving project direction. Working autonomously and creating direction for the brand within our established voice. This role requires a skilled storyteller with the passion and initiative to support all aspects of the production process, including learning game mechanics, mastering tools, and adhering to brand guidelines. What You'll Do
- Conduct research and use analytics to create engaging content that increases audience engagement and subscriptions.
- Prepare materials for scripts, including notes, outlines, synopses, and coordinating assets with production teams.
- Lead and collaborate with the writing team, upper management, production, and art teams to develop Minecraft assets and video thumbnails. This includes leading a pod of writers sharing your proven experience as a script writer with less experienced writers.
- Oversee the completion of 3-6 scripts per week, ensuring strong visual storytelling and adherence to deadlines.
- Generate video ideas based on trends and themes that resonate with the audience.
- Ensure logical flow, consistent tone, and alignment with the brands voice across all scripts produced by the writing team.
- Attend feedback sessions, implement revisions from management, and participate in peer reviews of scripts.
- Mentor new hires, guiding them through writing processes and team workflows.
- Lead concept meetings, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and use AI tools as references to develop original concepts and scripts.
- Study characters, dialogue styles, video formats, and audience preferences to create content tailored to the channel's demographic.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of narrative storytelling, with Minecraft lore and mechanics as a plus but can be taught
- Passion for YouTube content, desire to understand how it works, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes on the platform
- Understanding of content for children and young adults
- Ability to analyze video metrics to increase reach and audience engagement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entertainment environment
- Ability to work as on scripts both individually and as part of a team
- Efficient and timely communication skills
