Digital Media Production Specialist

Rowan University is seeking a dynamic and strategic Digital Media Production Specialist to spearhead the growth of our online education offerings. This position is key in achieving Rowan University’s mission and goals including access, affordability, quality and economic impact.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work as part of a team to conceptualize and actualize creative video concepts from pre-production to delivery.
  2. Oversee the creation of style guides, shooting guidelines and researching ideas, new trends in technology.
  3. Set up and operate video equipment for recording lectures, presentations, and other academic events.
  4. Collaborate with subject-matter experts to plan and create storyboards for multimedia lecture content creation.
  5. Create engaging, visually appealing videos that meet project goals.
  6. Coordinate shooting schedules with team and talent.
  7. Manage necessary crew, props, and locations when needed.
  8. Edit recorded footage to produce polished videos, applying post-production techniques.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance to professors regarding video recording and media usage.
  10. Manage production system for video content tagging and categorization.
  11. Maintain and troubleshoot video recording equipment.
  12. Track analytics of online education content.
  13. Ensure all video content adheres to university policies and accessibility standards.

  1. Creative Approaches – Use of creative techniques to make educational content more engaging.
  2. Content Quality – Develop captivating and high-quality video that meets accessibility standards.
  3. Collaborative – Willing to take creative direction and manage multiple projects competently.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field; OR Bachelor’s in a related field with at least 3 years relevant professional experience.
  2. 3+ years related professional experience in film production and videography.
  3. Proven experience as a videographer.
  4. Experience managing creative teams.
  5. Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  6. Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.
  7. Strong production coordination skills with attention to detail.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Strong understanding of online education trends and technologies.
  10. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Experience creating training or educational videos.
  • Experience working in an academic or institutional setting.
