The North Carolina Institute of Medicine, with The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is recruiting for a full-time Research Assistant (RA) to assist in the management of NCIOM project activities and to provide research support.
The RA will work under the direction of Michelle Ries, MPH, President and CEO (Principal Investigator) of the NCIOM, and the Associate Director (AD), NCIOM, Ayana Simon. The RA will assist with the publication of the North Carolina Medical Journal by collecting and storing information on contributors and monitoring contributors' progress. The RA will support all facets of task forces and other project planning, including organizing, implementing, and evaluating activities and providing written documentation, under the supervision of the PI/AD.
The RA will compile and organize data from various sources for reports, synthesize research, and be responsible for updates to the NCIOM and NCMJ websites, including data collection and report creation, as well as newsletter creation and distribution about NCIOM and NCMJ activities. The position requires substantial capacity to independently manage and coordinate research activities, along with excellent writing skills.
The RA will work with several groups, including providers, government agencies, professional associations, and other stakeholders and policymakers, and must establish and maintain effective working relationships. The person in this position must be capable of working independently in a self-directed manner.
This will be a 3-year Time-Limited position.
