A Brief Overview

The Service Representative is responsible for attending to and processing bank customers' daily paying and receiving transaction needs through the following: (1) identifying customer bank products and services needs and referring accordingly, (2) providing service to customers following satisfaction standards, (3) complying with regulatory requirements and operational procedures, and (4) adhering to scorecard metrics related to banking products.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  1. Processes monetary transactions such as check cashing, money orders, savings and checking account withdrawals and deposits, cash advances, and loan payments.
  2. Performs debit/credit entries through the bank teller system or manually during contingency situations.
  3. Applies security measures, identifying and reporting irregularities and suspicious transactions as defined in BSA and other requirements.
  4. Maintains registrar cash balances and refers transactions for authorization when needed.
  5. Contributes to branch growth by applying the Sales Culture and OSS Program, achieving goals, and following administrative procedures.
  6. Complies with all related laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Lending, Truth in Savings, US Patriot Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
  7. Identifies customer product and service needs and refers accordingly.
  8. Performs end-of-day balancing and closing, enabling the sending of transactions to the Proof and Transit unit as required.
  9. Completes administrative duties, including preparing daily transaction documents, money counting, and filing documents.
  10. Completes FINCEN 104, CTR information forms for cash and other transactions as defined in BSA operational procedures.
  11. Participates in internal and external sales activities.
  12. Supports the Sales area by answering phone calls and addressing service situations accordingly.
  13. Performs greeter duties when needed.
  14. Assists the Branch Sales Assistant Manager with administrative tasks as requested.
  15. Assists branch and Sales and Distribution in special projects and assignments.
  16. Participates in PEBO reviews by supporting the Branch Sales Assistant Manager in gathering required information and implementing PEBO recommendations related to the sales area.

What You’ll Need:

  1. A minimum of six (6) months of working experience in a sales or customer service environment.
  2. Twenty-four (24) credits toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or a banking/technical course.
  3. Basic mathematical skills.
  4. Experience working with cash registers (preferred).
  5. Excellent communication and writing skills.
  6. Fully bilingual (preferred).
  7. Computer literate in the use of MS Office, Internet, and banking tools.
  8. Available to work holidays, weekends, and flexible schedules; also available to be transferred to other branches within the geographical area.
  9. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask; ability to evaluate, react, and perform quickly and accurately.
