The Role

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teacher to join our school as the Lead Practitioner for Communication Development. This new role is a chance to make a real difference in our students’ learning experience as we continue to improve communication support across the school. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our communication initiatives. With a reduced class timetable, you’ll have the time and flexibility to focus on driving our communication priorities forward. You’ll work closely with staff, lead training, and explore creative ways to ensure all students have the best communication opportunities to support their success. This is a unique chance to have a big impact on a crucial area of development in our school. If you’re an enthusiastic, forward-thinking teacher passionate about communication development, we’d love for you to apply and help us create an inclusive, thriving learning environment for all our students.

Hatton Special School is a dynamic, welcoming, and supportive special primary school based in the heart of Redbridge. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment for children aged 3-11 with complex needs, including autism, social communication challenges, down syndrome, and other learning difficulties. As part of our continued growth, we are excited to be expanding. In September, we will open our brand-new Upper School, providing further opportunities for our pupils to thrive as they transition to the next phase of their education. This is a fantastic time to join our team and be part of this development! Although our staff are amazing and have developed some fantastic practices in working with our pupils, we do not sit back. We are continually striving to further develop the learning opportunities we provide for our pupils.

Our school is all about celebrating each child’s unique strengths and helping them thrive in an environment where our vision is to light the fire of curiosity and enquiry in the mind of every pupil to support them to grow, learn, and succeed. If you are someone who believes in the power of inclusive education and has the passion to make a real difference, Hatton is the place for you.

All Hatton staff have access to:

  1. A commitment to ongoing professional development
  2. A well-resourced school
  3. Supportive and enthusiastic colleagues and governors
  4. Staff social events
  5. Well-being support

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
