Job Description

NBCU’s Advanced Advertising team is at the forefront of leveraging data to help clients reach their target audiences. On this team, you will design strategies, business plans, forecasting, and modeling to drive growth and yield. This will involve tracking product performance and owning communication for executive leadership. In addition, you will own commercialization efforts and strategic partnerships in collaboration with Sales, Planning & Inventory, Product, and Finance teams and be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on data and audience-related initiatives.   

Duties and Responsibilities 

The role has the following key areas of responsibility:  

Growth Strategy: 

  • Identify, initiate and drive growth strategy initiatives for advanced advertising, enabling rapid revenue growth in collaboration with sales leadership and senior stakeholders across NBCU departments and partner organizations  
  • Support the VP of Advanced Advertising to lead business planning initiatives for advanced advertising sales and agency & client partnerships, including development of the annual financial plan, and associated resource planning and organizational strategy  
  • Partnering with Ad Sales Management on go-to-market strategy, specifically tied to interoperability with agencies, clients and technology & measurement companies 
  • Driving monetization of new offerings by establishing the selling strategy and operationalizing end-to-end processes for new products & partnerships  
  • Lead interoperability initiatives to enable more advanced advertising clients 

Business & Product Analytics: 

  • Comprehensive analysis of advanced advertising businesses to evaluate profitability overall and at a granular product level  
  • Assessment of market size, monetization, scale and cost structure  
  • Developing robust metrics driven processes to evaluate sales conversions, business performance and growth opportunities 
  • Competitive landscape and industry analysis and trending 

Executive & External Communication: 

  • Ability to distill complex media, advertising and technology concepts into clear and simple executive communications 
  • Support regular executive communications and updates with NBCU senior leadership 
  • Work with Product to set priorities and roadmap  
  • Ability to represent NBCU and it’s products in market 

Strategy & Operations Support 

  • Partner with key sales support stakeholders from Product, Agency & Client Partnerships, Planning, and Research on analysis to support ideation and commercialization of new advanced advertising products and strategizing solutions to put the organization in the best position to scale 
  • Determine internal products required to streamline existing and/or new operations  
Qualifications

  • MBA strongly preferred or 7+ years preferred in media or consulting 
  • Proven experience in creating and managing business plans and commercialization strategies for data-driven products 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive decision-making; experience creating revenue forecasts and financial modeling 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to executive leadership 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excel power user with experience analyzing complex data sets; proficiency in business analytics tools and systems, including Salesforce and financial reporting software a plus  
  • Outstanding interpersonal & networking skills 

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as required from time to time 
  • Media/Ad Sales Experience not a minimum requirement

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $155,000- $180,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
