SUMMARY: The Minnesota Vikings are seeking a collaborative and visionary creative leader with a passion for delivering impactful content experiences. Utilizing an audience-first mentality, the Creative Director – Content will serve as the Vikings’ creative expert on sharing triggers and the power of storytelling. You will oversee content creative across Vikings media channels and will lead collaborations to produce engaging lifestyle and culture-driven content initiatives that amplify the Vikings brand.
This is a core leadership role within Vikings Entertainment Network (VEN), the internal team responsible for social media, digital, radio, television, and in-stadium programming. While being able to energize a content vision across multiple organizational stakeholders, the Creative Director will also be expected to provide broad leadership across the marketing department. This includes collaborating with other creative directors or leads to provide thought-leadership in all facets of creative work within Marketing.
As the Creative Director – Content at the Minnesota Vikings, you are charged with not just maintaining the best-in-class standard but continually raising it. Seeing every project through completion with an eye to detail, so that our brand shines through clearly and in an impactful way with our fans all around the world.
SALARY RANGE: $142,000 to $182,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, team-first culture within Vikings Entertainment Network (VEN) by promoting diversity of thought, open communication, and shared responsibility.
- Inspire and elevate team creativity by leading ideation sessions, mentoring talent, and modeling high standards for innovative thinking.
- Demonstrate a passion for both generating innovative ideas and executing them effectively, with a strong expertise in production across all platforms, particularly social media.
- Guide collaboration of content producers to create dynamic content that connects an online audience with our players, team, and brand.
- Provide creative direction and feedback to ensure all content aligns with brand standards and maintains high-quality execution.
- Craft team and player content strategies that elevate off-field presence, showcasing personal brands, community impact, and lifestyle to deepen fan connections.
- Drive and support the processes that enable your team to perform at the best-in-class standard in sports entertainment.
- Champion the Vikings vision across VEN, treating home games, special events, and tentpoles as core opportunities for storytelling and innovation.
- Partner with key stakeholders to build and expand a Creator & Influencer network, driving innovation and enhancing our brand.
- Serve as a primary stakeholder and VEN creative representative in key Marketing campaigns.
- Partner with stakeholders to connect content deliverables to broader marketing and organizational priorities, ensure creative efficiencies, and to uphold brand identity across all creative endeavors within VEN.
- Build and maintain open and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including, but not limited to:
- Brand & Creative to uphold brand standards through content.
- Communications to ensure team messaging and tone is consistent.
- Social Impact to translate strategy into content that advances our platform for positive impact.
- DEI to reflect our commitment to inclusivity both internally and externally.
- Sales and Partnerships to create sellable content assets that align with our marketing vision and goals.
- Legal to ensure protection of the assets and interests of the company.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years’ experience leading social/digital video, brand development, copywriting, and overall content.
- Proven experience as a people manager and leader.
- Proven ability to inspire creatives with your energy and a record of building/adapting creative processes to generate impactful results.
- Successful track record of supporting organizational culture to align with core values and annual goals.
- Proven ability to facilitate complex creator/influencer partnerships.
- A deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds is essential for crafting content that resonates with our global audience, reflects our commitment to inclusivity, and builds authentic connections.
